Nereids

​Nereids was written in 2013 for violinist Joanna Nerius. It is a virtuosic showpiece for violin and piano. The title of the piece is the name given to the fifty daughters of the titan Nereus from Greek mythology. The Nereids were supposedly mermaid-like creatures that rode dolphins throughout the Greek seas, guiding sailors away from dangerous shoals. The recording below is from the premiere performance by Joanna Nerius on violin and Kyle Krause on piano.
